Nan Goldin

October 20, 2018 - January 21, 2019. The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston presents a selection of photographs by Rineke Dijkstra and Nan Goldin. The exhibition will investigate the main characteristics of Dijkstra’s work through a selection of images from her Parks series (1998-2006), as well as her 2014 video installation "Marianna (The Fairy Doll.)" Drawing on the museum’s permanent collection, the exhibition will span a range of years and places, including Boston in the 1970s, where Goldin emerged as an artist, and New York City in the 1980s, where she immersed herself in urban subcultures. The exhibition focuses on Goldin’s slide projection, The Ballad of Sexual Dependency, and includes a selection of photographs, including ten pieces from the artist's London Skinhead series, from the museum's permanent collection.
