BIOGRAPHY
Tommy Thomas’s wood constructions have won a following of collectors since New York Times critic John Russell called her 1982 debut at the 57th Street Touchstone Gallery “an outright winner.” Born a New Englander, Tommy Thomas became a New Yorker as the long-time Editor of the prestigious U.S. Camera Annual. Now a full-time artist, she spends half the year on Long Island’s North Fork, where she was first inspired to use wood as a medium by friend, neighbor, and extraordinary pioneer artist, Betty Parsons.
